Strap dresses - dresses that show shoulders, arms and back and only have straps over the shoulders, they have a U or V neckline. Caftan- the latest trend in dresses inspired by the Middle Eastern traditional clothing. It is reminiscent of a kimono and has had the same function of being used as outerwear. Caftans have been known and used by many cultures for thousands of years, but in the 1950s they appeared on the catwalks of the Western culture and since then they have been a popular style in women's wardrobe.

We do not use them as outerwear, but as elegant, flamboyant dresses. Caftans seen in short or longer versions, with short or long sleeves. Common to all is that they are made as one whole piece and their distinctive fluttering loose fit. Our caftans are floor long  and have ¾ length sleeves.

Maxi skirt-dress

A maxi skirt-dress is both a dress and a skirt in one design. It is characterized by its length. Shortest to go below  the calf as or down to the floor as the longest. A full-length skirt is a must-have in our wardrobe. They add elegance, grace and romance to our outfits in an easy and simple way. They are also the epitome of femininity and bohemian vibes. A maxi skirt is a beautiful and versatile alternative to trousers both summer and winter. They can easily adapt to your moods and can easily be styled for all your social engagements.

Poet Dress

The Poet Dress is a feminine version of the well-known poet, partisan or pirate men's shirt. Known for its loose fit with long, wide sleeves and finished with a wide cuff. Some styles might be decorated with ruffles and lace mostly in a vintage style. Originally, the pirate shirt was used exclusively by men in the 18th century, today it is a popular women's clothing and can often be seen in the street scene.

A saree’s Story's collections invite creativity and freedom. Combine your dresses with accessories in contrast prints by adding for example a Belle belt or a Geisha scarf to create your own personal style.

A dress can be changed from a sporty to a festive, elegant look  just by switching sneakers with high heels. You can create so many different looks with a dress! A strap dress can easily be worn on  cold days by wearing  wool stockings and a cardigan. The same goes for our other styles.

Try it out and I guarantee, you will enjoy your purchase longer when you see the many ways you can use it.

Exquisite material with a good story

A aree’s Story only uses reused Indian sarees to make these creations. A saree is the traditional Indian garb for women, consisting of many meters of fabric which they tie around their bodies in a masterly fashion. These sarees are often passed on through generations and gifted to the women on red-letter days. This way, they form a bond between them and create a story which continues its journey with each saree.

A saree’s Story will continue the sarees’ stories and make them part of yours.

The sarees are available in many types of fabric. Anything from pure silk to cotton to synthetic material is possible. A saree’s Story uses sarees that are made of a silk mix, where the main part is silk mixed with fibers such as cotton, crepe, viscose or rayon. The combinations make the material stronger, can endure everyday use, are easily taken care of and still feels beautiful and exquisite. The fabric has the most beautiful silk gleam, which brings out the colorful print and feels soft and light against your skin.

The exact fiber content is impossible to list, as the original tags have been lost, but more importantly I wish to protect the environment by reusing existing materials and make a difference.
